giving thanks...

this thanksgiving i am thankful for:
1. my beautiful mom who is so fun, easy going, understanding, and adorable.
2. my wild bouncy nephew who makes every moment blissful.
3. my crazy little sister, who makes me laugh even when she makes me mad.
4. my sweet friend, fritz!, who cracks me up until my face hurts.
5. having enough.
6. "management"~surprisingly hilarious and sweet
7. leftovers for days...
8. sunny, crisp weather and the smell of firewood
9. a clean kitchen
10. the apron i'm wearing in this picture...made by my mom. i really don't like pictures of myself which is why i don't post them here, but i do LOVE this apron and the smile on my face really captures how i felt all day on this Thanksgiving. :)

pioneer woman.

i'm so excited about getting to meet the pioneer woman this tuesday!
her cookbook just arrived in the mail a few days ago and i can't wait to have her sign it. weeeeeeeeeeeeee!

7. hearing that a friend who wasn't doing so well is now doing much better
8. finally getting to wear all the scarves i knitted recently

conversation with carlos, one of my charming 7th grade students...

carlos: my girlfriend broke up with me and i don't know why.
me: i'm sorry. what happened?
carlos: last night, i was talking to her on the phone about her birthday. she asked me what i was going to get her and i said, "i don't know. what do you want?" she said, "i don't know, maybe a shirt from hollister." i said ok. then she asked me if i want to know what size to get and i said, "ummmm...EXTRA LARGE!" then she hung up on me!

UPDATE: he is now dating her best friend.

my little goblin...

One of the best parts of my nephew's Halloween was when a fortune teller told him, "You have a big heart. You give a lot of love, don't you? You're very creative, and, OH! Look at your life line! You will have a very long life." I have never seen his eyes get so big. He was overjoyed!
